# Celebrity management company for social media and digital presence

> MVP (Mega Volume Production, 十方众声) is a celebrity management company for the social media side of a career: it runs the accounts of actors, musicians, athletes and hosts, builds their public image and commercial value beyond their work, and looks after account security and bad press. A dedicated team works as a service partner alongside the agent, manager and assistants, and the accounts stay in the celebrity's name.

## What does MVP do for a celebrity, and how is it paid?

MVP runs a celebrity's social media accounts, keeps them secure and deals with bad press. It works under a service agreement: roles and contracts stay with the agent or manager, and MVP's fees are tied to commercial income.

- **What MVP does**: The team plans, produces and posts content on each platform. The celebrity sets the voice, approves the key posts and may post everyday updates personally. The team also looks after account security, privacy and bad press. Roles and contracts stay with the agent or manager; who negotiates endorsements and other deals is agreed with the agent, the manager and the celebrity's own company before work starts.
- **How MVP is paid**: Applying is free, and so is the diagnosis before signing, which is a look at the accounts on each platform, the audience, the commercial deals and the existing contracts. For celebrities, fees for social media management are tied to commercial income; how they are calculated is set out item by item in the proposal and shown to you before you sign. The line "MVP never charges creators upfront fees" is the rule for creators and influencers; for celebrities, what applies is what is said here. How each kind of client is charged: [how MVP charges](https://www.mvpdata.net/en/approach#faq).
- **What stays yours**: The accounts stay in the name of the celebrity or their company. You do not hand over a password: you give access through the platform's own feature for adding team members and can take it back at any time. When the work ends, all access comes back to you. If something goes wrong and a statement is needed, it goes out in the name of the celebrity or their company, never in MVP's. MVP does not name the celebrities it works with or use their names, stills or screenshots in its marketing.
- **How to start**: The celebrity, an agent or manager, or the team can [contact us](https://www.mvpdata.net/en/contact). Celebrities here means actors, musicians, athletes, hosts and other public figures, and each case is assessed on its own. If you are not sure whether you count or whether this fits, for example because you have no agent or company at the moment, ask anyway. Every application gets a reply, including those that are not a fit for now.

## What is a celebrity's personal brand?

A celebrity's personal brand is the public image and commercial value a celebrity builds beyond their work, through social media, public statements and partnerships. It can be managed over the long term.

On this page, celebrities and artists means actors, musicians, variety and TV performers, athletes, hosts and other public figures. MVP looks at standing in the industry, not follower count alone, and assesses each case on its own.

Managing that personal brand is a different job from representation. An agent, a talent agency or a manager looks after roles, contracts and the overall career; personal brand management looks after social media presence, fan relationships and commercial deals, including between projects. Within the celebrity's team, MVP is the service provider for social media and the personal brand, working alongside the manager or agent, the publicist, business affairs and the assistants; it does not sign a management contract (the kind that hands a career's bookings and business to one company) and does not go around the agent. How an agent differs from a manager is explained on [what we do](https://www.mvpdata.net/en/services#faq).

## How do celebrity teams manage social media accounts?

The common model is "team-run, celebrity-approved", and MVP works this way: the team plans, produces and posts, while the celebrity decides how they speak, approves the key posts and may post everyday updates personally.

- **A role for each platform**: Each platform gets a role, for example Weibo for official announcements, short-video platforms for everyday visibility and Xiaohongshu for lifestyle content. The persona, meaning the kind of person the public takes the celebrity to be, rests on the celebrity's real character and work, never on an invented image.
- **Fan relationships**: A steady rhythm of communication that respects fans and also sets boundaries. Follower and engagement numbers stay real, with no faked data, so the numbers partners see stand up to checks.
- **Access and review before posting**: The accounts are in the name of the celebrity or their company. The team works through the platform's own access features, so no password changes hands; key posts go out only after the celebrity confirms them, and all access comes back when the work ends. This reduces the risk of hacked accounts, mistaken posts and leaks.

## What does MVP do as a celebrity management company?

For celebrities, MVP does two things first: operations, which is everyday social media content across platforms, and protection, which covers account security, privacy and bad press. Endorsements and other commercial deals are handled together with the agent or manager, and who does what is agreed before work starts.

- [Personal brand strategy and positioning](https://www.mvpdata.net/en/services/strategy): MVP (Mega Volume Production, 十方众声) builds personal brand strategy for established creators, celebrities, founders and companies. It works out with you four things: what you are known for, who you speak to, what you talk about, and which deals you will not take. It suits a change of direction, a plateau, a new platform or a founder stepping forward. MVP's own team delivers a written plan you can act on.
- [Talent development: a creator incubator for proven talent](https://www.mvpdata.net/en/services/incubation): MVP (Mega Volume Production, 十方众声) runs a creator incubator for established creators, artists and experts with room to grow. It sets the direction with you and builds the content, operations, deal and risk routines that turn a growing account into a long-term career. A dedicated team stays with each client, and MVP's income comes from a share of the client's real commercial deals.
- [China social media management for public figures and brands](https://www.mvpdata.net/en/services/operations): MVP (Mega Volume Production, 十方众声) provides China social media management for established creators, celebrities, founders and companies. Its in-house team plans content, schedules posts, looks after fan communities, reviews the numbers and checks every post before it goes live, on Douyin, Xiaohongshu, Weibo, Bilibili and WeChat as well as YouTube, Instagram and TikTok. The accounts stay in your name.
- [Brand partnerships agency for creators, celebrities and founders](https://www.mvpdata.net/en/services/partnerships): MVP (Mega Volume Production, 十方众声) works as a brand partnerships agency for creators, celebrities, founders and companies. It finds brand, platform, media, entertainment and live-event deals that fit you, negotiates fees and contracts, and follows delivery and payment, all through its own team. Every deal is checked for fit with your positioning before negotiation begins. Brands looking for creators: see [cross-border influencer marketing](https://www.mvpdata.net/en/brands/influencer-marketing).
- [Celebrity reputation management and risk protection](https://www.mvpdata.net/en/services/protection): MVP (Mega Volume Production, 十方众声) provides celebrity reputation management and crisis response for celebrities, creators, founders and companies. It watches for risks, and when something goes wrong it checks the facts, prepares the response, reports false or infringing content and helps repair the damage. Public statements go out in your name, never MVP's. Long-term work includes monitoring and crisis response; a single incident can be a one-off project.

## What does the celebrity social media management process look like?

After signing, the work runs in three steps: agree who does what with the existing team, run the accounts day to day, and review regularly while watching for risk. The five steps from applying to signing (apply, first review and reply, a meeting after an NDA is signed, diagnosis and proposal, signing) are on the [approach page](https://www.mvpdata.net/en/approach#engagement). The diagnosis is free: it looks at the celebrity's accounts on each platform, the audience, the commercial deals and the existing contracts, and finds what to improve first.

1. **Agree who does what with the existing team**: MVP agrees with the agent, manager or company who handles roles and contracts, who handles social media and deals, and who speaks publicly, so the celebrity is not managed from several directions at once.
2. **Day-to-day operations**: The team plans, produces and posts across platforms while the celebrity approves the key posts. Commercial deals are screened on two tests: image and compliance.
3. **Regular review and risk watch**: MVP reviews fan relationships, commercial value and each platform's results, and keeps watching for bad press, fake accounts and privacy risk.

## What challenges do celebrities face on social media?

Celebrities commonly face four problems on social media: every platform works differently, attention fades between projects, income and image pull against each other, and accounts and privacy are at risk.

- **Every platform works differently**: Weibo, Douyin, Xiaohongshu and WeChat Channels differ in format and fan habits, just as Instagram, TikTok and YouTube do. The same post copied everywhere usually does worse, so each platform needs its own rhythm and voice.
- **Attention fades between projects**: When no film, album or season is out, attention drops. The time between projects needs planned everyday content and fan communication, not a rescue effort after interest has already fallen.
- **Income versus image**: Livestream selling and sponsored posts bring income but can cheapen an image. The law in China also lets an endorser recommend only products and services they have actually used, so every deal has to pass on both image and compliance. The public records to check before taking a deal: [partnerships](https://www.mvpdata.net/en/services/partnerships#vetting).
- **Account security, privacy and impersonation**: Schedules, home addresses, family and private life are constant targets, and one hacked account or mistaken post can become a public story fast. Scammers also pose as a celebrity's "manager" to ask fans for money; MVP never contacts fans or asks anyone for money on a celebrity's behalf. ## What can a celebrity do when AI copies their face or voice?

In China, using AI to fake a person's face or voice without their consent is an infringement: you can ask the platform to take the content down and hold the person behind it responsible. On YouTube, the platform's likeness detection is now open to talent agencies, management companies and the celebrities they represent, and can be used to find videos that copy a celebrity's face and ask for them to be removed.

Where each rule comes from, and how the rules have changed since 2024: [AI copies of faces and voices](https://www.mvpdata.net/en/insights/ai-likeness-rules-timeline). The terms are explained in the glossary under [Likeness detection](https://www.mvpdata.net/en/glossary/likeness-detection) and [Digital replica](https://www.mvpdata.net/en/glossary/digital-replica), and where to file a complaint or report is on [takedowns and remedies](https://www.mvpdata.net/en/remedies).

The conditions for YouTube's likeness detection: users must be over 18 and verify with a government-issued ID and a selfie video, which can take up to five days. The feature is still experimental, is not available in some countries, and as of September 2026 detects faces only.[^1]

## Frequently asked questions

### Will MVP replace my agent or manager?

No. MVP does not sign a management contract with you and does not go around your agent or manager: it is the service team for social media and personal brand management, working alongside your agent, manager, company and assistants. How it works with a celebrity's own company is agreed case by case. The general policy for talent already under contract elsewhere is on [who we work with](https://www.mvpdata.net/en/ip#faq).

### How much does celebrity social media management cost?

Fees are tied to commercial income. How many platforms are run, how much content is made and whether deals and protection are included all go into the proposal; the fees are listed there item by item and shown to the celebrity's side before signing, so the team can budget for the year. The figures are not published on this site and come with the proposal. Applying and the diagnosis are free.

### What should a celebrity social media management contract cover?

At least six things: the scope of services; who owns the accounts and how access is given; who reviews content and who has the final say; who decides on commercial deals; confidentiality; and how the engagement ends. At MVP the accounts are in the name of the celebrity or their company and key posts are confirmed by the celebrity's side; fees, the term and the exit conditions are written down before signing. What else to check before signing is in the [FAQ](https://www.mvpdata.net/en/faq#working-together).

### Do you work with athletes, and with celebrities from outside China?

Yes. MVP works with actors, musicians, athletes, hosts and other public figures, and assesses each case on its own; if you are not sure whether you count, ask, and you will get a reply. An athlete's attention peaks around titles, seasons and retirement, so the personal brand needs planning ahead. MVP also helps artists and creators from outside China build influence on Chinese platforms such as Douyin, Weibo, Xiaohongshu, Bilibili and WeChat, working with the celebrity's existing team.

## Agents and managers can start the conversation for the celebrity.

Describe where the celebrity's accounts stand and what is needed now; an agent, a manager or the head of the celebrity's company can apply on the celebrity's behalf. MVP makes a first assessment and, after the meeting and the diagnosis, agrees the division of work with the celebrity's team and puts forward an operating plan.

- [China Celebrity Endorsement Rules: Who Can Endorse What in 2026](https://www.mvpdata.net/en/insights/china-celebrity-endorsement-rules): As of October 2026, China's celebrity endorsement rules bar celebrities from endorsing medical services, drugs, medical devices, health foods, foods for special medical purposes, tobacco or off-campus tutoring, under the Advertising Law and the 2022 guiding opinions of seven departments. An endorser may recommend only products they have used, and no one under ten or penalised for a false endorsement in the past three years may endorse. A rule-breaking endorser forfeits the illegal gains, pays a fine of one to two times that amount, and shares liability with the brand when a false health-related ad harms consumers.

- [Morality clauses: how talent exits when the brand is in trouble](https://www.mvpdata.net/en/insights/morality-clauses): As of October 2026, Chinese law gives talent three ways out of an endorsement contract when the brand runs into trouble: agreed termination events (Civil Code Art. 562), statutory termination for a breach that defeats the contract's purpose (Art. 563), and the rules for ending a likeness license (Art. 1022). Article 562 also supports a reverse morality clause that names brand-side events as the talent's own triggers.
